Miss Amalia & Nathan Break Through
Jan 26, 2015
"It was a big thrill to ride my first winner and even better because it was for Robbie Griffiths," said a delighted Nathan Punch celebrating success at just his second ever ride.
And we are delighted to be part of his big day with Miss Amalia breaking her maiden in easy style at Great Western's first ever TAB meeting on Sunday.
Making an early run in the 1210m maiden, Miss Amalia was cruising coming to the turn and she quickly put 3/4 length on her rivals.
A home-bred for the Alateras family, Miss Amalia is a daughter of Primus and the two times city winning Falvelon mare Spring Drinks.
Spring Drinks' dam Come Spring was also a talented metropolitan winner and this family boasts a link with Australian racing family with Miss Amalia's ninth dam being the VRC Derby/Oaks heroine Frances Tressady who has a Gr.3 race run in her honour at Flemington each autumn.
