Forgive Me Flies

Apr 05, 2016

Having just his third start, it was an easy breakthrough for Forgive Me at Cranbourne on Friday night, the three-year-old right at home on the firm going having struck rain affected tracks at his first two starts.

Beautifully ridden by Matthew Allen, the son of God's Own sat midfield before gaining a split in the run home and charging through it to win by a length with plenty in hand.

"The race panned out perfectly for him," Robbie Griffiths said, "and when the breaks came his way he took them and won well - it was great to see him win."

Bred by his owners the Smith family, Forgive Me is the third winner for their two times winning Swamp King mare Acapulco Princess.

Also dam of Righteous Ruler and Merida Zeus, both full siblings to Forgive Me, Acapulco Princess has been retired from stud duties with her final foal, the two-year-old Keep The Faith colt Bo Zephyr, also a member of the stable.
