King Deano's confidence is at a high, the in-form five-year-old having saluted so impressively at Warrnambool a couple of weeks ago taking that form to Werribee on Saturday.
Starting favourite in the 1600m contest, the consistent gelding got back to second last, travelling nicely before improving to the turn, straightening up just off pace, taking the lead at the 100m and getting clear.
Recording the fourth win of his 24 start career, King Deano had 1 1/4 lengths on his rivals and looks ready to continue his rich vein of form.
"He always tries so hard," Robbie Griffiths said, "so to see him make it two in a row was very exciting."
"He has reached peak fitness and is racing well, hopefully it can continue."
Congratulations to the Alateras family who bred and race King Deano, a son of King de Lago and the dual city winning Personal Flag mare Pattie Royale.
