Double Success

Jan 08, 2015

Whilst Robbie is busy at the Gold Coast sourcing future stars at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale - his purchases so far stunning colts by Redoute's Choice and Commands - the stable has been ticking along strongly.

Heading to the Seymour meeting on Tuesday with just two runners, we were very happy to cheer on a double; Rearview and Landale both saluting in determined fashion.

Having been a tough third after racing wide at his previous start at Geelong, Rearview was kept safe in the 1200m 0-58 event and he travelled nicely throughout for Jamie Mott.

Settling midfield, he found some trouble in running - needing to be steadied at the 600m before hooking out four wide at the turn. Despite being held up a touch early in the straight, he continued a strong run - hitting the lead with 75m to go and drawing clear to salute by a length.

In doing so recording the second win of his nine start career, Rearview has always shown plenty of talent but has just taken a while to learn how to show his best.

He is the first horse we have trained for Clanbrooke Racing & Sharing Winners and we hope a strong association continues.

Later in the day Landale recorded the second leg of our double with a strong all the way victory in a benchmark 64 event over 1600m.

Taking his usual front-running role, the lightly raced five-year-old entered the straight with plenty in hand for Mark Zahra and he held his rivals at bay with an easy 3/4 length victory.

A two times winner from just 13 starts, Landale did a good job dropping back from 2100m to the mile and there look to be more wins in store for the son of Dylan Thomas.
