It's One Of Three New Year Winners

Jan 02, 2015

It did not take It’s One long to find winning form in the New Year, the talented four-year-old at only her second run this time in racing away to a tough win at Mornington on Thursday.

Doing a bit of early work from an awkward gate in a small field, It’s One settled outside the leader facing the breeze before taking over with 200m and drawing clear to salute by a soft 1¼ lengths.

In doing so recording the second victory of her 13 start career, It’s One impressed the stable enough to earn herself a trip to the city.

“It was good to see her back in winning form at her first run with the visors on,” Robbie Griffiths said.

“She was good at Sandown first up and she can now head back there on the 14th for a 1500m mares race which is part of a summer championship series.”

A home-bred for terrific stable supporter Gerry Ryan, It’s One is a daughter of O’Reilly who sadly passed away during the week.

Her city winning dam Numero Douze, who was served last spring by Helmet, is a daughter of the New Zealand Listed winner Tristachine whose dam Getting There was also a stakes winner.
