A Beautiful Victory

Jul 31, 2015

It was a deserved breakthrough for Beautiful Assassin at Pakenham on Friday, the three-year-old having been close up at previous assignments - having her hoof on the till for some time.

And what a way to break her maiden, the daughter of Wanted showing good pace and doing everything right with the blinkers coming off - her winning margin an impressive 2 1/2 lengths.

"She was ridden beautifully by Ben Melham," Robbie Griffiths said.

"She relaxed nicely in front and was just too strong."

"Hopefully that gives her the confidence to go on with it now. She has always shown the talent at home but has never really settled in her races so it was nice to see her on song today."

Raced by Robbie Griffiths, Tony Patrizi, Anthony Zoanetti, Paul Curtain, Paul Miall, Graeme Curtain and Adrenalin (manager Brian Turner), Beautiful Assassin is out of the imported Hennessy mare Ylang Ylang.

A 3/4 sister to the dual Gr.1 winner November Snow, Ylang Ylang hails from the family of the NZ Gr.1 winner Bounding and the speedy local stakes winners Kuroshio and Believe N Succeed.
