A Winning Rhythm
May 07, 2017
What great form Critical Rhythm has been in of late, the lightly raced and consistent four-year-old at Bendigo on Monday recording his second success from his last three starts.
Stepping up to 1300m, the son of Danehill stallion Critical List was always travelling well for Jye McNeil, moving up ominously at the turn and holding a good margin right to the line.
"I was worried that he was left out in front a fair way from home," admitted the stable's Reid Balfour, "but he tried hard, put his head out and did the right thing."
"He has been racing honestly this preparation, he always gives 110% which is half the battle with horses."
"He has got a few little quirks," McNeil reported, "but he travelled well today and let down with a nice run which he held all the way to the finishing post, he felt good."
Raced by Graf Racing, Critical Rhythm is a half-brother to the stable's winner True Statement out of the three times winning Tank Attack mare Forayer.
A descendant of the famed matriarch Cinna, Forayer can count amongst her close relations the South Australian Oaks winner Runaway Bride and the Group winners Stick Around, Charm Scene Land and Bridal Falls.
