Two From Three for Milady Cabriot

Mar 18, 2018

What great form Milady Cabriot has been in of late, the honest mare since late January heading to the races on three occasions and coming home a winner twice with her latest success a dominant victory at Geelong on Saturday.

Enjoying a good run for Jamie Mott, the daughter of dual W.S Cox Plate hero So You Think sat fourth in the 11 horse field and was travelling nicely coming to the turn - just needing a bit of luck to get clear.

When the run came Milady Cabriot quickly picked up and was strong to the line, hitting the lead with 100m to go and drawing clear to win by 3/4 length with plenty in hand.

"It was a fantastic ride by Jamie to overcome a wide barrier draw," Robbie Griffiths noted. "He put her in the perfect position she was just too strong at the finish."

Purchased at the 2015 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, Milady Cabriot bred by Cathy Hains at Burnewang North Pastoral is the first foal produced by the winning Zabeel mare Limoncino.

Served last spring by Holler, she is a half-sister to the stakes placed Mango Daquiri (in turn dam of the stakes placed Upon) from the family of European Group One winners Cherokee Rose, Kirklees, Mastery and Mukhadram.
