Deserved Win for Saveyourenthusiasm

Aug 20, 2018

It had been a while in between wins for Saveyourenthusiasm but the five-year-old had been consistent since breaking his maiden at Bairnsdale in May last year... and it was a well deserved second victory for him at Tatura on Sunday.

Suited by a strong pace, the bay travelled well midfield for Rhys McLeod, edging closer from the 600m and putting in the big strides as leader Just Stellar gave a 2 1/2 length kick into the straight.

Really flying late, Saveyourenthusiasm took over from the 100m and away he went - his winning margin an easy four lengths... suggesting that win number three will not take as long to come!

"The writing was on the wall for him," said Robbie adding that "as he was only narrowly beaten at his previous start... it was great for him to be past the post first at last!"

A son of W.S Cox Plate hero Savabeel, Saveyourenthusiasm is a New Zealand bred son of the city winning Danasinga mare Curbyourenthusiasm whose dam is the dual Gr.3 winner Starcent - also ancestress of stakes winners Marseille Roulette, Delta Girl and Strike The Stars.

Other members of this prolific black type family include the Group winners Star Of The Knight (Saveyourenthusiasm's third dam), Sportsman, Prisoner Of Love, Hoystar, Vanbrugh, Diademe, Sacred Star and Embellish.
