We Love Magnus!

Oct 01, 2018

What a wonderful stallion Magnus has been for the stable; 16 runners - 16 winners!

The latest of which is the promising Magnation who was so strong breaking his maiden at Benalla on Friday.

Enjoying a nice run under the guidance of Andrew Mallyon, the lightly raced three-year-old was just off the pace, hooking out clear into the straight - hitting the lead with 200m to go and showing plenty of fight at his first outing with the blinkers on.

"It was great to see him win," Robbie Griffiths said, adding that "the addition of blinkers certainly helped him focus on the task so he could get the job done in fine style."

A home-bred for terrific stable client Colin Pearce, Magnation is the second winner for the lightly raced Stawell maiden winner Creation who was also a member of the stable... as is her first winner Evolutionist who looked good winning two during his most recent preparation.

Served last spring by Nostradamus having produced a Deep Field filly the year before, Creation is a half-sister to the stakes winner Firenza - dam of Gr.3 galloper Tuscan Sling and grandam of Gr.3 winner Kiwia.

This is a prolific local family, one that has also produced the stakes winners Lite'N In My Veins, Hi World, Loveyamadly, Ducimus, Mondano, Honey Flower, Stage Hit, Indian Raj, Encores, Irradiate, Sir Laurence, Pillaging, Del Toro, Splendid Horse, Cherry Creek, Marwell Lady, Jesterella Boy, Good Sight and Sainthood.
