Secret Flying At Geelong

Jun 18, 2015

The second leg of our Geelong winning double, Commanding Secret is another filly who displays a terrific affinity for the synthetic surface, the three-year-old in three starts at the track winning twice.

Because of that terrific form Commanding Secret was favourite in Tuesday's 1300m event and she gave punters a nice ride settling well in third position for Matthew Allen.

Digging deep over the final stages, Commanding Secret recorded the second victory of a ten start career, one which has seen her finish in the placings on a further three occasions.

"She has been a bit green," Reid Balfour, "but we have tinkled around a bit with her gear and she is slowly getting the idea."

"Hopefully now her racetrack record will measure up to what she has always shown at home."

"She found the line well today and hopefully that win will give her a bit more confidence."

Allen reported that he was confident throughout the race and happy with the way she fought over the final stages - "the horse on the outside headed us but once she saw it she kicked back, it was a good, tough win."

A $200,000 Magic Millions graduate raced by great stable clients Craig & Kathy Pearce, Commanding Secret a daughter of the late Commands (pictured).

A filly with outstanding residual value, she is a full sister to the four times Group One winner Appearance and the Listed winner Mascareri.
