Doubt At Debut

Jun 03, 2015

The second leg of our Geelong running double, the promising two-year-old Don't Doubt Marley was kept very safe in the Jim's Mowing Maiden Plate and what a great job she did taking on and defeating the older horses at her first start.

Jumping well from her inside gate, the good looking bay settled nicely in third position for Ivan Culliver and after saving ground along the rails at the turn was able to get clear to win by a soft 3/4 length.

And her win came as no surprise with Don't Doubt Marley not only always showing ability but also proving herself to be a no nonsense youngster.

"She is just so professional," Sarah Moran said, noting that that desirable trait is common amongst the Not A Single Doubt breed.

"We have had a few of them and they are all very laid back horses," she said.

Victory Park's Mandy Allen noted that Don't Doubt Marley has always had that great attitude - "she has been like that since day one and the only thing she loves more than her work is her food!"

The second foal and second winner produced by the winning Dash For Cash mare National Gift, Don't Tell Marley hails from the family of Hong Kong Gr.1 winner Packing Winner and the NZ Gr.1 winner Southern Lord.

Congratulations to owners Maurice Sinclair, Colin Bell, Jane Sinclair and Tracey Bell.
