Out On A High Note

May 18, 2015

A horse who has not always had the best of luck, Electric Charge was a deserved winner at Pakenham on Sunday.

Striking interference when a close up Ballarat fourth at her previous outing, Electric Charge again did not have an ideal run after being slowly away and ending up towards the rear.

But upon straightening the three-year-old looked to have plenty to offer, pushing herself out into the clear and charging home - drawing clear late to win by a soft length.

And the win was a timely one with Electric Charge bowing out on a good note as she heads to a stud career for owners Craig and Kathy Pearce.

A well related daughter of Charge Forward, Electric Charge is a half-sister to the Gr.3 winner Miss Darcey out of the speedy stakes winning Danzero mare Miss Bussell. That mare's dam meanwhile is the New Zealand Gr.1 winner Lurestina.
