Having not had the best of luck at his first two runs this time in, it was good to see The Terricks find the line in such determined style at Echuca on Thursday.
Patiently ridden by Chris Parnham, the four-year-old drifted back along the rails from his inside gate and was able to save good ground staying close to the fence as the field turned for home.
Getting off the heels of the leaders early in the straight, The Terricks had a fight on his hands as those two horses got clear but from the 100m it was obvious that he was going to reel them in and from the 50m he was able to get clear to salute by 3/4 length with plenty in hand.
"It was great to see everything go his way today," Robbie Griffiths said, adding that he was impressed by Parnham's ride.
"Chris has been in great form of late and it was another fantastic ride by him."
A bargain $12,000 purchase at the 2012 Melbourne Premier, The Terricks is raced by Robbie & Shiranee Griffiths, Anthony Muraca, Frosty's Snowmen, Simon Crawford, B Crawford, Neville Blake, Cameron Fisher, Vanessa Fisher, Strathmore Veterans No 1, Iron Horse, Ian Whiting, Paul Miall, David Ward and Peter Morey.
A son of Kapchat, The Terricks is a half-brother to the stakes placed Home Sweet from a strong Victorian family whose members include the stakes winners Berberia, Tindal, Chattanooga, Ascorbic, Fantisha and Real Stolle.
