Soaked's Double

May 03, 2015

Having gained confidence with a fast finishing victory at Cranbourne a few weeks ago, Soaked was back to his favourite track with another big win on Friday night.

Again settling back for Matthew Allen, the six year-old was not bothered by a rise in class as he eased out at the top of the straight - quickly swamping his rivals to win by a soft 3/4 length.

Doing a good job considering he wanted to over-race at times, Soaked recorded the fourth success of his 48 start career, one that has seen him figure in the placings on a further 20 occasions.

"He has always been a consistent horse so it is great to see him put two wins together," said a delighted Robbie Griffiths.

"The Cranbourne night races seem to suit him," he continued, "and he will now take on the final of the series he has been contesting in two week's time - let's hope he can make it a hat-trick!"

Congratulations to Soaked's happy owners Elvis Cash, Balcony Boys, Neil Leyden, David Ward, Jenny Kelly, Karen Alberts, Kaz Morphett, Paul Miall, Chris Zoanetti, Don Smith, Ken Smith, Jeff Smith, Lyn Griffiths and Sandy Bona.
