On breeding alone Tuscus is a horse to get excited about, the son of Domesday being from one of the world's great families... the descendant of Northern Dancer's best daughter Fanfreluche able to boast amongst his relations the likes of Holy Roman Emperor, Flying Spur and Encosta de Lago.
"He has the pedigree to take him all the way," said Robbie Griffiths, delighted with the form the lightly raced three-year-old has displayed so far.
"It is baby steps to date," he said of Tuscus' maiden victory at just his second start at Bendigo on Thursday "but he has done everything right so far."
Crossing to the lead from the outside gate, Tuscus was well reated by Mark Zahra and he showed plenty of heart to kick off when challenged over the final 200m.
What's next for Tuscus is yet to be decided, Robbie keen to look after the young horse, one who describes as ä really nice horse who has always shown great potential."
"We will see how he recovers over the next week before we plan we to go now."
Raced by Robbie Griffiths, Paul Dingwall, Don Hutt, Harry Smith, Uwinwedrink, Wheres The Foxhat, Rocket To Hollywood, Sean Evans, Peter Elliott, John Goodrich, Michael Gallagher, Peter Holmes and Directors Syndicate, Tuscus was a $100,000 purchase at the 2013 Magic Millions.
