Cocinero
Cocinero is the winner of eleven races and has banked more than $670,000 in prizes for connections. He has been a most consistent performer winning at least one race in eachof the past five seasons. Cocinero has won twice at Listed level and has numerous Group placings to his name and at time of writing is set to embark on his latest season of racing and has not lost any of his old spark judging by his track work.
2009
Happy Glen
Happy Glen proved a revelation in 2008/09 after suffering a near career threatening injury winning at Sandown in January 08. He returned late in the spring to win a 0-72 at Moe and won three more on end at Mooney Valley, Caulfield and Flemington. Well known for his toughness in a battle, Glen ran consistently for three black type placings and another win before finishing a dream preparation for his owners in May with over $275,000 in the bank and eight wins to date.
2008
Danzylum
This handsome son of Danzero struck a rich vein of form in Spring 2008 when in the space of 35 Days he was astutely placed to win four races on end. The highlight of which was a determined win in the last race on Melbourne Cup Day at Flemington providing his owners with a day never to forget.
2006
Dandy Kid
A $10,000 yearling purchase that won his first four starts, Dandy Kid went on to break the record for the most wins at Mooney Valley winning 15 races there from 1999 to 2006. He showed he was not just a Mooney Valley specialist with exciting wins of the Vain Stakes LR at Sandown and the Bletchingly Stakes G3 at Caulfield A great success story who is now enjoying his retirement at Cloverdale Agistment Farm being cared for by Drew and Cas Morphett.
2003
Big Pat
Big Pat was the source of great excitement in the spring of 2003. Winner of the Saab Quality G2 on Derby Day he qualified for the Melbourne Cup the following Tuesday and ran a very respectable 10th. Big Pat was the winner of six races and collected more than $550,000 in Prize Money.
2000
Bright Side
This stakes winning daughter of Don’t Say Halo finished her racing career with over $250,000 in the bank and along the way won at all four metropolitan tracks. She retired with great residual value as a broodmare which made her a bargain buy at just $6,000.
2000
Kid Calamity
He joined my stable after breaking down badly (tendon) as a 3yo. Fourteen months later he returned to the racetrack winning first up over 1600 metres and repeating this performance at Moonee Valley over 2040 metres second up. Winning 1st and 2nd up over these distances is not often seen on Australian racetracks and is an achievement I am extremely proud of.
1998
Go Raami
He was the first yearling that I selected and won as a 3yo through to a 7yo winning 4 Country Cups in his final preparation. His 12 wins earned his connections over $250,000 and a course record that still stands.
1994
Spring Theme
Broken down as a 2yo with a poor prognosis was not a good start. To go on and win 11 races that included being placed in G1 company and invited to race overseas was a tremendous achievement. His wins in the Semour Cup and the Winter Final LR and his third placing in The Toorak Hcap G1 were the highlights of a wonderful career.
